Have you thought about getting anti-wrinkle injections but have some doubts or concerns about the treatment? We’ve put together a list of answers to the most common questions to help you on your treatment journey with The Doctor’s Studio!
1. Do anti-wrinkle injections actually remove wrinkles?
As we age, imperfections in the skin may begin to appear as a result of sun damage, dehydration, free radical damage or just normal ageing. Cosmetic injections provide unprecedented potential for turning back the clock.
Anti-wrinkle injections work by injecting a muscle relaxing agent into these active facial muscles. Relaxing the muscles beneath the skin works to smooth out the outer skin layer, reducing the appearance of lines.
This effect also helps as a preventative measure. If the muscle is already relaxed it will not cause skin folds and lines appearing that eventually lead to permanent wrinkles.
2. Are anti-wrinkle injections safe?
With more and more non-medical places offering anti-wrinkle treatments, it is often hard to know who to trust. With a highly trained and experienced team of cosmetic doctors and nurses at The Doctor’s Studio, our patients are in safe hands at every step of the way.
Prior to your treatment, our experts perform a facial assessment at your consultation to offer the right anti-wrinkle treatment that is suitable for you and your skin. A high level of skill is necessary to assess the ideal placement and injection technique required. At The Doctor’s Studio our team aim to give you the look you desire without that frozen, expressionless look.
3. What is the cost of anti-wrinkle injections?
The cost of your treatment will always depend upon your individual treatment plan. Some patients require more injections than others and will therefore incur a greater cost. At The Doctor’s Studio, we believe we offer competitive pricing for the superior service we provide.
4. What areas can anti-wrinkle injections treat?
Our patients come to us to assist them in treating various problem areas. Some of these areas that our treatments are effective in reducing wrinkles are:
We also provide dermal fillers which can be used to treat lines and lack of volume in the following areas:
5. What’s the difference between anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers?
Both of these treatments aim to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles in patients. However, they target different areas of the skin. Anti-wrinkle injections target the source of the wrinkle in the muscle, whereas dermal fillers are injected into the actual skin, aiming to ‘fill out’ the visible lines. Dermal fillers can also be used to plump up an area that has experienced ‘deflation’ after weight loss or ageing.
6. How long does anti-wrinkle treatment last?
Anti-wrinkle treatments are always dependent upon an individual treatment plan, how severe the wrinkles appear and how many previous treatments the patient has received. Generally treatment can last between 3-6 months. Top-up treatments can increase this to 6-12months.
