If you haven’t heard of Rebecca Harding it won’t be long until you do. Coming into the spotlight thanks to her relationship with Andy Lee she has now stolen the focus herself with her contagious smile, natural beauty and down to earth approachability. The Doctor’s Studio loves when Rebecca pays us a visit and are proud to see the results of regular facial treatments, we speak to Rebecca about her beauty routine, experiences at The Doctor’s Studio and how she copes with life in the public eye.
The Doctor’s Studio . When first coming to The Doctor’s Studio for a consultation what were your major skin and appearance concerns?
RH. When I first visited The Doctor’s Studio my initial concerns were minimal. I was looking for bright, glowing skin before events as my skin was clear from any acne and I was 24 so fine lines weren’t really present. However, a year later I found myself dealing with hormonal acne. I found that my usual skin routine wasn’t working and everything I knew about my skin wasn’t the case anymore.
The Doctor’s Studio: How long have you been coming to The Doctor’s Studio , what treatments have you had and what are your results so far?
RH. I’ve be coming to The Doctor’s Studio for around three years now. I swear by visiting every 4-6 weeks to keep my skin looking the best and my treatments change slightly each time according to what my skin needs. A usual session will include a Hydrafacial, some extractions and about 15 minutes under the LED healing lamp. Mai and I have recently started playing around some lasers which are helping with clearing some acne scarring I had on my cheeks.
The Doctor’s Studio: You recently appeared in a Maidenform campaign looking absolutely stunning, in preparation for the shoot did you do anything special for your body and skin?
RH. Thank you so much! I certainly increased my workouts in the lead up to the campaign and really watched what I ate. What I put into my body is just as important as what I put on to it, and a good wholefoods based diet is key for me. I made sure I was getting my 3 litres of water per day and of course, two days before the shoot I visited The Doctor’s Studio for a Hydrafacial to get my skin GLOWING.
The Doctor’s Studio: You’re increasingly in the public eye, how important is quiet time for you and what do you do to refresh and relax?
RH. It’s so important to switch off! I love cooking and yoga, so I find that these help me to switch off and relax. I also pop on the Skinceuticals Medik8 Clay Mask (available in clinic) once a week, not only does it work wonders on my skin but it also forces me to stop, stay in and not really do much for a bit.
The Doctor’s Studio: You’ve found yourself in the spotlight partially thanks to your relationship, but are now forging your own path, we want to know more about you! You have a Masters in Communication, what do you see in the future professionally, do you have any goals or plans you’d like to share?
RH. I love learning and trying different things, so I guess in the future I see myself continuing to do that. I’m always up for a challenge.
The Doctor’s Studio: Your social media persona is very genuine and relaxed, as your popularity grows how do you combat the pressures of social media conformity, do you find yourself getting sucked in occasionally?
RH. Thanks, I guess that that’s just me. I don’t really find myself getting sucked in as I’d just prefer to show people who I am and do my own thing. I find it’s so much more engaging when people are being real.
The Doctor’s Studio: Do you have any skincare or makeup products that you couldn’t live without, what are your favourites?
RH. My skin specialist at The Doctors Studio has me on the easiest skincare routine that works really well for my skin. The Skinceuticals Simply Clean face wash is my go-to and I follow that up with their A.G.E Eye Cream and either the Overnight Renew Oily (I apply this at night) or the Daily Moisture. Regarding make-up I swear by the Mecca Cosmetica Bronzing Primer, I wear this on its own during the day and mix it with the Lancome Ultra Wear Foundation at night. It just adds some glow to your skin while keeping everything fresh.
The Doctor’s Studio: As your profile grows you’re going to become a role model for younger females, are there any things you wished a role model had told you when you were growing up?
RH: My mum actually instilled a lesson in me and my sister from a young age that is ‘you can do anything you put your mind to’. My mum (who also visits the Doctor’s Studio regularly) decided that she wanted to become an architect at a time where it was a hugely male-dominated industry. She was one of two females who graduated in her year at University and had a wildly successful career in her field. I feel like she really paved the way for my sister and I do whatever we wanted in life, even if you have to work a little harder.
The Doctor’s Studio: At The Doctor’s Studio we believe that a woman who feels confident in their appearance will be more confident and successful in their daily life. if you’re having a flat day what do you do to make yourself feel happy and confident again?
RH. I love putting on some good music and dancing. It’s actually how my boyfriend and I start our day most days. It’s amazing what an uplifting song and a little boogie can do!
The Doctor’s Studio: Any Rebecca Harding DIY beauty tips you’d care to share?
RH: Putting teaspoons in the freezer is a great way to help de-puff eyes and smile, it’s the most beautiful thing you can wear on your face.
