We’re here to help you find the best solution for your buttock enhancement in both our Melbourne and Brisbane studios. We can talk to you about Autologous Fat Grafting to Buttocks.

Fat grafting involves permanently removing fat from unwanted areas of the body and transferring it to enhance the appearance of the buttocks.

Our surgical team has refined this technique since 2003 to ensure the best possible results.

Results at the three-month stage are permanent, and the advantage of using your fat to increase volume is there is no chance of an allergic reaction to your own tissues.

Q & A Q & A

01

How does it work? How does it work?

We use tiny instruments to delicately remove fat cells for harvesting before being injected into the buttocks.

The ideal areas we will take fat from are difficult to shift, so it is the last area lost in case of weight loss. Generally, the fat volume that can be retained long term varies between 40% and 60%.

Is this the right option for me? Is this the right option for me?

To consider fat enhancement to the buttocks, you need to have adequate fat to harvest and transfer. The amount of fat that can be successfully transferred depends on your age, general state of health, and your buttocks’ blood supply and tightness of tissues.

We’ll talk about the options and what is involved when we meet.

What are the risks involved? What are the risks involved?

Making the decision to have cosmetic surgery is a serious one, and patients considering a procedure should also keep in mind that they need time to recover, they will need support, and possibly time off work. They may also need other therapies such as massage and compression garments.

During your consultation we will discuss the range of options available to you and recommend treatments that have the best chance of achieving your desired goals. Part of this conversation will cover, in more detail, the types of complications and risks that apply to your specific circumstances. In general, the risks and complications of surgery are:

• disappointing aesthetic outcome
• infection
• bleeding
• scarring
• significant asymmetry (a large difference between sides)
• pain
• change in skin sensation (eg. numbness)
• allergic reaction
• anaesthetic complications
• prolonged recover and wound healing
• collections of fluid

All of these may result in the need for further treatment or surgery.
