Four Ways To Rev Up Your Skincare

Skincare

If you’ve had a treatment with us, you’ll know we are committed to giving you radiant, youthful skin – That’s why we ensure your home skincare regime is emphasizing and assisting your treatment results. If you’re feeling like your regime isn’t up to scratch, or needs revision, consider these four tips on how to boost it:

  1. Bring In A Retinol Product. Retinol, a form of Vitamin A, is touted as a “miracle” ingredient for nearly every skintype and it’s issues. This wonder vitamin stabilizes sebum flow and unclogs pores, assist in reducing pigmentation and scarring and softens fine lines and wrinkles by promoting cellular turnover. Choosing a retinol based product, however, is not so straight forward as the active ingredient needs to be of a certain percentage in order to be effective – do your research, and speak to our experts!
  2. Get The Right Sun Protection. If you hate the feeling of traditional sunscreen, that’s no longer an excuse to protect your skin from one of the most ageing environmental stressors your skin can experience. Many cosmeceutical grade brands now offer a daily sunscreen that feels good, works well (a SPF of 30 or above) and includes beneficial ingredients to further treat skin. We love La Roche Posay Anthelios XL 50+ for a lightweight and effective sunscreen.
  3. Reduce Or Increase Your Exfoliants. Showing thickness and congestion? Or perhaps your skin is raw and inflamed. Your exfoliation regime might be unbalanced. As well as typical physical exfoliants like scrubs, microbeads, jojoba beads etc. products you use may also include chemical exfoliants (ingredients to look out for include lactic acid, salicylic acid and retinols) which you may be using more frequently than need be. Alternatively, if you are feeling your complexion is dull and congested, including an exfoliant product once or twice a week to your regime. Professional facial treatments also add a deeper level of regeneration, so have a chat today about creating a routine with one of our dermal experts today.
  4.  Get Serious About What’s On Your Plate.Refined sugar, processed foods and allergens like lactose and wheat can all impact your skin. Your gut influences your immune system as well as your skin, so including more fresh food, green vegetables and good quality supplements will not only make you look better but feel better too.
